1. Answer Review

But there is a rational explanation. Einstein assumed (1) that the laws of nature are the same in every frame of reference, and (2) that the speed of light is a law of nature.
To understand requires a definition of: 1) the laws of nature 2) what is a reference frame 3) How the speed of light measured (in a ference frame)
The admonition to “look at the experiments” came about because up to then it seemed rational to believe that light, as a wave, had to be propagating through a medium, and a sensitive enough experiment could tell how fast we’re moving through the medium. But if you look at the Michelson-Morley experiment, that assumption clearly doesn’t work.
I expect that this experiment teaches us that there is no medium. At the same it must teaches us something else?
That led to Einstein’s assumptions.
To understand requires a clear definition of the Michelson Morley experiment.
If you tell us specifically what are the “irrational statements” that “everyone just jumps from,” then maybe we could answer your question properly.
