THE REALITY, NOW AND UNDERSTANDING

FGALAXY.TXT

1 INTRODUCTION

This document describes the program FGALAXY.

2 DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this program is to show a picture of a Universe, created as a fractal, filled with galaxies.

While observing the pictures you can ask your self the following question: Is that what you see a picture of the real Universe i.e. can the real Universe be described as a fractal?

The answer is: No.

You can also ask your self the more general question: Can any part of the physical reality be described as a fractal?

Again the answer is: No.

Fractals show a mathematical reality of for example something that looks like the galaxies of the Universe. Fractals don't describe the reality.

2.1 VIEW GALAXIES

In order to observe the 7 pictures of the Universe, perform the following: FGALAXY.EXE

From the Test Selection Display
Select test 2
Select S (Start)

In paragraph 3.2 more examples are shown.

2.2 DATA BASE

The program FGALAXY supports many Universes. Each Universe has a name.

The Universe on the demo diskette is called S.

In order to build your own Universe select file name from Parameter Selection Display.

Pictures are stored in files. Each picture is stored in one file.
Pictures are also stored as a function of the screen mode selected.
All pictures for screen mode 7 end with .7
All pictures for screen mode 8 end with .8
All pictures for screen mode 9 end with .9
All pictures for screen mode 12 end with .12

The demo diskette NOW part 2 of 2 contains 5 pictures in screen mode 9
The files are S1.9, S2.9, S3.9, S4.9, and S5.9

2.3 INDEX FILE

The coordinates of the pictures of a Universe are stored in an index file.
On the demo diskette this is file S0.
The maximum number of pictures per index file is 20.

On the demo diskette the file S0 contains the coordinates for 20 pictures.
This allows you to build all the other pictures without any intervention.

3 OPERATION

3.1 DISPLAYS

7, 8, 9 and 12

In screen mode 7 each picture requires one file: .7
In screen mode 8 each picture requires one file: .8
In screen mode 9 each picture requires one file: .9
In screen mode 12 each picture requires one file: .12

4 = File Name. The standard value is S
You can use you own file name. After entering a new file name from the Test Selection Display perform function 1: New Index.

3.1.3 UNIVERSE DISPLAY

The pictures of each Universe Display use the full screen. No additional information is shown.

If you want to terminate select Esc (escape) If you have selected "View existing Universe" then the pictures will be shown one by one starting from your Starting Picture (see Parameter Menu)

If you have selected "Create new Universe" then first the last (partially) completed Universe will be shown. When this picture is complete Frame Selection can start.

After "Frame Selection" the new picture slowly will be build and displayed.

3.1.3.1 FRAME SELECTION

Frame Selection allows you to select the co-ordinates of your next Universe.

The frame is indicated by four lines:

One white line and three blue lines

The white line is the active line. You can only change the size (position) of the frame from the active line.
The three blue lines are the inactive lines of the frame.

To select the white (active) line use Tab key
