The text of the book is stored in the files in the directory NOW\TXT The text files are written using the DOS Text Editor. With each of the text files there is also an index file stored in the directory NOW\IND

The programs are stored in the files in the directory NOW\EXE The program files contain demonstrations and are written in Quick Basic. With each of the programs there is also a text file.

Figures show results and are stored in the directory NOW\FIG

The easiest way to read the book is to use the program BOOK. The program BOOK is also used to perform the demonstrations (tests). There is a special display with HELP information: When in BOOK, select H For best performance (factor 2.5) use DOS and don't use WINDOWS.

In order to read the book, copy the supplied diskettes to your system disc perform the following:

After DOS prompt C:\>

Key in   MD NOW          and press ENTER. This sets up directory  NOW
Key in   MD NOW\TXT      and press ENTER. This sets up directory  NOW\TXT
Key in   CD NOW\TXT      and press ENTER. To select directory
Place diskette NOW part 1 of 2 in Drive A
Key in   Copy a:\NOW\TXT and press ENTER. To copy all 34 files with text
Key in   CD c:\          and press ENTER
Key in   MD NOW\EXE      and press ENTER. This sets up directory  NOW\EXE
Key in   CD NOW\EXE      and press ENTER. To select directory
Key in   Copy a:\NOW\EXE and press ENTER. To copy all 20 files with programs
Key in   CD c:\          and press ENTER
Key in   MD NOW\IND      and press ENTER. This sets up directory  NOW\IND
Key in   CD NOW\IND      and press ENTER. To select directory
Key in   Copy a:\NOW\IND and press ENTER. To copy all 34 files with indexes
Key in   CD c:\          and press ENTER
Key in   MD NOW\FIG      and press ENTER. This sets up directory  NOW\FIG
Key in   CD NOW\FIG      and press ENTER. To select directory
Key in   Copy a:\NOW\FIG and press ENTER. To copy all 26 files with figures
Place diskette NOW part 2 of 2 in Drive A
Key in   Copy a:\NOW\FIG and press ENTER. To copy all 46 files with figures

In order to read the text of the book "The Reality, Now and Understanding" you have to execute the program BOOK and perform the following:

After DOS prompt C:\> Key in CD :C\NOW\EXE and press ENTER key After the prompt C:\NOW\EXE\> Key in BOOK and press ENTER key When in BOOK select H to get more Help Information.

To print the text under Microsoft WORD or WORD PERFECT use Courier (new) 8

If not enough disc space 2800KB then don't perform paragraph 2.0 Put diskette NOW part 1 of 2 in drive A

After DOS prompt C:\>          Key in CD A:\NOW\EXE and press ENTER key
After the prompt C:\>          Key in A:            and press ENTER key
After the prompt A:\NOW\EXE\>  Key in BOOK          and press ENTER key
After the text   PATH NOT FOUND etc. drive ?    Key in A  and ENTER key
