THE REALITY, NOW AND UNDERSTANDING

1.0 INTRODUCTION

This document describes thought experiment 7

The purpose of this thought experiment is to explain that we cannot describe the reality accurate.

2.0 TEST DESCRIPTION

The test consists of three tests. In each test three persons are involved: I, You the reader and third person who performs the test.

2.1 TEST 1

I'm the observer in a room at t0. In the room there is a chair, a table and on the table lies a fan. The state of the room is s0.

At the beginning of the test person # 3 enters the room, places himself in the chair and starts smoking a cigar. When finished, he moves the fan in a very particular manner, up and down with his arm. This is done in order to distribute the smoke equally in the room.

When all the smoke is equally distributed person # 3 is finished and leaves the room at t1. The state of the room is s1.

Now you enter the room and I ask you the following question: Please observe the state smoke. When you are finished we will do test 2.

2.2 TEST 2

Test 2 is completely identical as test 1. The only difference is that person # 3 makes 10 circles with the smoke of his cigar.

Person # 3 is finished and leaves the room at t1. The state of the room is s2.

Now you enter the room and I (will again) ask you the following question: Please observe the state smoke. When you are finished we will test 3.

2.3 PART 3

Test 3 is again identical as test 1 and test 2. The only difference is that # 3 writes the letters L O V E with the smoke of his cigar.

Person # 3 is finished and leaves the room at t1. The state of the room is s3.

Now you enter the room and I (will again) ask you the following question: Please observe the state smoke. When you are finished we will have a discussion.

3 DISCUSSION

In the discussion I will first ask you if you have participated in three tests. I expect your answer will be: Yes.

Next I will ask you: did you observe (measure, see) after each test any difference. I expect your answer will be No. The total (average) number of smoke particles will be the same and based on your observations the state of the room (at macroscopic level) is the same.

On the other hand I know that after each test the state of the room (at microscopic level) is different, because different tests were performed. After the smoking of each cigar the pattern of smoke particles was different and stayed different after making the same movements with the fan.

But there is more. After each of those tests the state not only of the room but also of the (whole) Universe will be different and will stay "different" into the infinity. What (the exact definition of) this state is no body knows. As such there is no loss of information.

The point I want to make here is that the total Universe is always unique, is never ever the same and can not be described completely by physical laws or anything.

3.1 OBJECTIONS ?

The reader maybe has an objection about the previous that such tests, which start from the same initial condition, are impossible.

The important part is that the tests are almost identical.

Let us automate the tests and perform two tests in parallel. The test area consists of two identical rooms. In each room there is a fan which is motor controlled. Each room is filled which smoke of two different colours: red on the left, blue on the right. The state of the two rooms is identical.

Each test consists of two parts:

1) the fan is moved and 2) the fan is not moved. The order can be different.

In the first part of the test only the fan in the left room is moved. In the second part of the test only the fan in the right room is moved.

As stated before until the movement of the fan the state of both rooms is identical. During and after the movement of the fan in the left room, the state of both rooms will become different (the red and blue smoke will become mixed). The state will stay different until at least the fan in the right room also has been moved. The question is will the state of both rooms ever again become the same ?

In my opinion the answer is no. (Partly because the state of each room when the fan is moved, this is a different moment for each room, is not the same)

This implies that all what previous happened is still available in the state of each room. This cannot be described in words or anything. The same is true for the Universe.
