- V = Direction of movement of the Milky way (towards Vega)
- GNP = Direction of Galactic North Pole
- GC = Direction of Galactic Centre
- CMB = Direction of movement relative to the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation
- C = Galactic Centre.
