As an ethicist, I found the chatbot’s use of emojis concerning.
-
The question is if chatbot's should use emojis in the first place. The anser should be no.
-
Public debates about the ethics of ‘generative AI’ have rightly focused on the ability of these systems to make up convincing misinformation.
-
The question is to what extend chatsbot tell the truth. Chatbots retrieve their answers from a database. The question is to what extend the data in this database is moderated. If this is the case all the data in the database is correct and is it not possible by means of questions raised that the Chatbot produces misinformation.
If this is not the case than the Chatbot can produce misinformation.
-
I share that worry.
This depents how the Chatbot operates.
-
But fewer people are talking about the chatbots’ potential to be emotionally manipulative.
-
That is the same problem, expressed differently
-
Both ChatGPT, a chatbot developed by OpenAI in San Francisco, California, and the Bing chatbot — have fabricated misinformation.
-
If Chatbots on purpose show misinformation, these chatbots should be placed on a black list.
-
In some ways, they act too much like humans, responding to questions as if they have conscious experiences.
-
There is nothing wrong that chatbots voices are natural.
-
In other ways, they act too little like humans: they are not moral agents and cannot be held responsible for their actions.
-
The person who asks the question and who finally publishes the answer is responsible for his actions.
At the same time the company that owns the chatbot should show a certain ethical accepted behaviour. This means that the chatbot should not suggest criminal behaviour.
